What's Been Going On?

This week has been a fun one for our family.  However, we have not all been together.  Kev and the kids went to Columbus, Indiana to visit his parents while I stayed home and enjoyed some much overdue Mommy Time.  While I stayed home and went to work the kids have been quite busy.......

They've been organizing and leading small villages.....

 Exploring new territory........

Enjoying each other's company......

While life w/out kids and hubby has been peaceful and fun, my real vacation began today.  The plan for the weekend is to meet my family and spend the weekend in Kentucky.  I chose to go a day early to soak up some hotel time for just me.  Sorta the calm before the chaos.....anyhoo.....my last Mommy only dinner looked a little like this.....

As u can see there is not one healthy thing on this table.

Well, okay there's the watermelon.

I must say, though, that this is my favorite for the night.  Where I live we have the small bags.  Needless to say I was excited to see this bag...even more excited to see the price was just $1.88.

Seriously, though, while I have enjoyed my Mommycation and not having to share my Milano cookies, the best part of today is that I get to see these smiling faces tomorrow..........

And  his.....

Lessons on Conservation...This group had amazing birds from Raptors to this Owl.  We sat right next to this tent.  What a fun view!

And lessons about pioneer life.  Here, K  feeling the different animal skins that were used to make clothing.

Memorial Day Prayer

Dear Father in Heaven;
What a privilege to live in a country where I'm free to post something like this.  Thank You Father for all that You have done through the men and women who have fought to obtain our freedom, those who still fight for the freedom of others, and those who spend their lives making sure our daily lives are spent in safety.  Thank You for our Military Soldiers, Police Officers, Fire Fighters and EMTs.  Protect them, Father, in every way.  Deliver them from evil and set their feet on a sure foundation.  Help them complete their assignments.  Open doors that need to be opened and shut those that need to be closed.  Place your angels around them.  Give them wisdom to know which paths to take and which to stay away from.

Be with the families of each person in service.  They long for hugs and sacrifice their time just as much as the ones who are serving in their positions.  Father, fill in the gaps that have been left open.  Provide where there is lack.  Comfort those who are hurting.  Heal the hearts of those who have lost loved ones.  Bring good out of the evil that these families face each day.  Thank You Father.  In Jesus' Name.......

New Blog....New Adventures.....

Welcome to my new blog!  For those of you who are new....nice to meet ya!  To those who used to follow me way back when......nice to finally see you again!  Being out of the loop for so long, I found it difficult to just jump back into blogging.  It wasn't because I was bored of blogging or did not like to do it.  I found myself trying to play "catch up" with all the happenings in my life and always seemed behind.  THAT was no fun.  So I've decided to relaunch my blog with a new look.  It seems fitting as my life has taken on new adventures.  God has been opening doors for me and my family and teaching me many important lessons.  I cannot wait to share the adventure with you.  The new page is a work in progress so please be patient and come back often.  I hope to add some new things like a page about me and a page devoted to each child.  And maybe one devoted to my adult child....er....hubby!  ;0)

There is one adventure that I will share about today....

I've decided to get my Master's Degree in Social Work.  While I'm excited about this new trek, there is some apprehension that comes with this decision as well.  This wasn't even something that I was even thinking about this time last year.  This time last year, I was wondering if God had anything new for me to do.  I believed He could use me but wasn't sure just how.  Today, I'm here to let you know that God can take you from where you are and put you anywhere He wishes.  My heart's desire has been to work with foster/adoptive families and that is just where God has put me.  People ask me if I like my job and I reply, "I don't feel like I have a job."  I wasn't able to say that a year ago.  God has been so patient with me as He works to show me that my story has not ended.  Has there been a time when God has shown you your story is still being written?  Let me know what you think!  Until next time. . .
